Little Simz Follows Up "Flood" With "Free"

Little Simz is not slowing down. After presenting the lead single from her highly anticipated sixth album, Lotus, which is due out in May, the creative multi-hyphenate has presented the project’s second confirmed track.

After a few days of dropping off previews on Instagram, Simz has shared “Free,” an ode to the dualities that exist in both love and fear.

“Love will never judge you because of your pain,” Simz croons over jazzy instrumentation.

“Free” arrives on the heels of Simz’ “Flood,” which featured contributions from Obongjayar and Moonchild Sanelly as well as a cinematic music video directed by Salomon Ligthelm that opened the vault to Lotus.  A tracklist for Lotus still remains under wraps but stay tuned on that front.

A respected figure in the high fashion world as well, Simz recently returned to the Miu Miu runway for a second time – after making her debut on the house’s runway last March – in the Spring/Summer 2025 Parisian showcase.

Stream “Free” on Spotify and Apple Music now and expect Lotus to drop everywhere on May 9.
