Inspired by the classic “Jack Purcell” model, Converse and Graphpaper have teamed up once again to release an all-new version of the sneaker loafer. Unlike the previous slip-on model, both brands have leaned further into the penny loafer silhouette.
The original Jack Purcell’s are a comfortable departure from the classic All-Star Converse. The low-profile sneakers feature a multi-cushioned sole for a slight platform that offers additional support. For this loafer iteration, Graphpaper keeps the basics of the model, utilizing the thicker sole and signature “smiling” toe cap. Meanwhile, the suede upper perfectly recreates the athletic loafer aesthetic featuring U-shaped moccasin stitching without the stiffness of traditional patent leather, available in tan and navy.
The Graphpaper x Converse sneaker loafer will be available on March 29 online and in-store at Converse and Graphpaper. Each pair is priced at ¥22,000 JPY (approximately $146 USD). It looks like the shoes will still only be available in Japan. However, sneaker loafers amongst brands like Hoka and New Balance show no sign of slowing down.
