Audi Expands Its Electric Lineup with High-Range Q4 40 e-tron

Audi is expanding its electric offerings with the launch of the new Q4 40 e-tron, a high-range entry-level variant designed to make premium electric mobility more accessible and practical. Equipped with a 63 kWh battery, the Q4 40 e-tron achieves an electric range of up to 256 miles, with the Sportback variant slightly outperforming at 262 miles.

The electric SUV boasts a rear-mounted permanently excited synchronous motor producing 150 kW (201 hp), capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds and reaching a top speed of 100 mph. Charging efficiency is another highlight; the battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 24 minutes at DC fast-charging stations, allowing up to 93 miles of range to be replenished in only ten minutes.

Audi enhances practicality by introducing manual battery preconditioning through the vehicle’s MMI interface, improving charging speeds and reliability at every charging stop. A predictive maintenance reminder is also accessible through the myAudi app, providing drivers with real-time updates on crucial maintenance points like brake pads, battery health and emergency equipment.

Connectivity is significantly upgraded with the Audi application store and the integration of ChatGPT. This advanced voice-operated system, powered by Azure OpenAI and Cerence Inc.’s automotive-grade technology, allows control over infotainment, navigation and climate settings.

With a competitive entry-level price starting at $48,336, the Q4 40 e-tron includes premium standard features like Audi MMI navigation plus, the Audi virtual cockpit, heated front seats and an electric luggage compartment lid. Customers can begin ordering both SUV and Sportback models now.
