adidas Taps Willy Chavarria and Wales Bonner for a Fresh Take On the Jabbar Low

adidas is once again bridging the gap between heritage basketball and contemporary fashion with the highly anticipated Jabbar collaboration featuring Willy Chavarria and Wales Bonner. The two renowned designers bring their signature aesthetics to the classic silhouette, offering two distinct colorways.

Fresh off his win as the CFDA 2024 American Menswear Designer of the Year, Willy Chavarria delivers a bold, elevated take on the Jabbar Low. His version features a premium black leather upper, accented by striking red Three Stripes. Instead of traditional tongue branding, a velcro strap embroidered with Chavarria’s signature introduces a distinctive twist. The off-white midsole remains consistent, balancing retro aesthetics with modern refinement.

Meanwhile, Wales Bonner, following a strong 2024 campaign with the Samba, Samba Millennium and Superstar, brings her refined approach to the Jabbar Low. Her iteration arrives in a deep purple suede upper, complemented by a satin liner for a luxe finish. Gilded branding appears at the heel and tongue, while a textured gold leather detail on one of the Three Stripes adds depth and contrast. The off-white midsole ties the design together, enhancing its vintage appeal.
