A$AP Rocky Appointed as Ray-Ban's First Creative Director
Releasing his new “Blacked Out Collection” to kick off his new role.

A$AP Rocky has officially been appointed as Ray-Ban‘s first creative director. The new role comes as no surprise as the multi-hyphenate artist has often been spotted wearing Ray-Ban shades to round out his track-stopping fits. Known for his trendsetting influence in both music and fashion, Rocky intends to keep the momentum going with Ray-Ban Studios, lending his unique vision to the popular eyewear brand.
Kicking off the new appointment, Rocky is releasing the Blacked Out Collection, redesigning Mega Icons with a brand new lens type. The collection is slated to arrive this April, just in time for the sunnier seasons. Rocky now helms the platform, Ray-Ban Studios, which launched in 2016 to celebrate the power of music and stories of courageous artists. In a statement, Rocky shared, “I’ve always admired Ray-Ban’s ability to stay true to its roots while constantly evolving. I’m “I’m excited to be part of the strong heritage and develop the next chapter for an iconic brand like Ray-Ban.”
The Blacked Out Collection will feature a blend of Ray-Ban’s contemporary culture with Rocky’s signature style. Traditional icon styles are turned Mega, featuring gold plated details and brand news ultra-black lenses. Rocky’s involvement will extend beyond designing eyewear by directing campaigns, redesigning Ray-Ban stores while incorporating music, fashion and the arts.
