XLARGE Drops Apparel Collab With Global Custom Car Brand LIBERTY WALK
The lineup includes a striking Nissan GT-R car wrap, limited-edition apparel, and unique collector’s items available from the global and U.S. exclusive online store.
Streetwear pioneer XLARGE has teamed up with world-renowned custom car brand LIBERTY WALK for their first-ever collaboration.
XLARGE was founded in 1991 by Eli Bonerz, Adam Silverman, and Mike D of the Beastie Boys. It is a pioneering American streetwear brand that combines elements of workwear, hip-hop and skateboarding. LIBERTY WALK is based in Nagoya, Japan, and was founded by Wataru Kato in the early ’90s. The custom car brand specializes in its signature “works-style” wide fenders and has an enthusiastic fan base around the world. For this collaboration, LIBERTY WALK has created a special car, a custom Nissan GT-R. This green model is wrapped with graphics such as the XLARGE logo and the iconic OG gorilla logo throughout, pointing to the brand’s creative approach to automotive customization.
To commemorate this collaboration, selected stores in Japan released the collection, and the brands hosted a two-day pop-up at the calif art gallery in Nakameguro, Tokyo, last November 1–2, where the crowd stacked up quick. During the pop-up, guests could shop the ‘XLARGE x LIBERTY WALK Mini GT 1/64 LB-Silhouette,’ a collector’s miniature car item, as well as co-branded apparel, including a T-shirt with a graphic GT-R print, packaged in a custom box.
Starting November 21, part of the collection will be available in very limited quantities on XLARGE.COM (Global online store) and US.XLARGE.COM (U.S. Exclusive online store). The XLARGE x LIBERTY WALK lineup includes jackets, T-shirts, stickers, available online. This is the last chance to grab this limited collaboration worldwide.
