'Red Dead Redemption 2' Is Now the Fourth-Highest Selling Video Game in History

Rockstar Games‘ Red Dead Redemption 2 is officially the fourth-highest selling video game in history.
The news was confirmed by Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive during their latest investor’s call. RDR 2 has now sold over 79 million units since its release, also making it the “best-selling title of the last seven years in the US based on dollar sales.” This increases the total sales of the entire Red Dead Redemption franchise to 106 million units.
The 2018 game is now behind Wii Sports with 82.9 million units sold, fellow Rockstar title Grand Theft Auto V with 220 million units sold and Minecraft with 350 million units sold.
RDR 2’s latest feat arrives several months after it became the sixth-highest selling video game in history. The title had sold 77 million units at the time to overtake Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow.
