The Chopard L.U.C Grand Strike stands as a monumental achievement in high watchmaking, representing the brand’s most complicated chiming timepiece to date. A fusion of multiple acoustic complications, this timepiece integrates a minute repeater, a Grande Sonnerie, and a Petite Sonnerie within a single movement: the manually-wound Calibre L.U.C 08.03-L.
Developed entirely within Chopard’s Manufacture, the L.U.C Grand Strike is cased in a generous 43mm of 18k ethical white gold. Its design is intentionally open, featuring an entirely “dial-less” architecture that exposes the intricate complexity of the 686-component movement, allowing enthusiasts to observe the striking mechanism in action.
This masterpiece has been recognized with dual prestigious certifications: the Poinçon de Genève and the COSC chronometer certification. Its chiming sound is amplified through proprietary sapphire crystal gongs integrated into the watch glass monobloc construction, delivering remarkable depth and clarity.
Beyond its technical achievements, the L.U.C Grand Strike reflects Chopard’s philosophy of blending tradition with innovation. The restrained curves of the case and the open architecture of the dial create a contemporary aesthetic while showcasing the artistry of mechanical watchmaking. Offered with interchangeable hand-sewn alligator leather straps, the timepiece is open for inquiry through the Maison’s online and physical boutiques, priced at 780,000 CHF (approx. $967,460 USD).
