Flea Fronts New Levi's x UNDERCOVER Lookbook
Arriving in celebration of the Japanese label’s 35th anniversary, the new range draws influence from collections past.

This year, UNDERCOVER is celebrating its 35th anniversary. After recently surprisingly revealing the label would present a womenswear runway show at Paris Fashion Week in March, the Jun Takahashi-led Japanese label has unveiled another yet big move to celebrate milestone big year: a second dual-minded denim collection in partnership with Levi’s.
To flex the collection rooted in craftsmanship and creativity, the duo tapped Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ Flea – whom both brands believe perfectly embodies the spirit of the garments – to lead the lookbook. The nine-piece range also places heavy emphasis on UNDERCOVER’s archives, referencing releases from the 1990s and 2000s.
A reenvisioning of the Pinnacle Type II Trucker Jacket leads the range, reimagined by Takahashi to reference UNDERCOVER’s Fall/Winter 1998 collection with detachable zip detailing implemented throughout the silhouette.
Down the line, the dark-washed denim delivery taps back into graphics from 2003, imbuing the archival images – such as the “Light Darkness” motif – on the jackets and tees.
