Lamborghini and the Italian State Police are celebrating two decades of collaboration, marking a partnership that began in 2004 with the delivery of a Lamborghini Gallardo. Over the years, Lamborghini has supplied six high-performance vehicles, each tailored to serve unique purposes, from high-speed patrols to life-saving organ transports.

The collaboration began with the Gallardo 510-4, a model equipped with a 5L V10 engine, used extensively for patrolling and medical emergencies. Its successor, the Gallardo LP 560-4, brought enhanced performance with a 5.2L engine, advanced stability systems and specialized equipment like refrigerated compartments for organ transport and onboard defibrillators.

In 2014, Lamborghini introduced the Huracán LP 610-4 with a 5.2L V10 engine capable of reaching 201 mph. Its advanced aerodynamic design and emergency equipment have been instrumental in critical medical deliveries, including a life-saving kidney transport in 2023.

Most recently, the Italian Police received the Urus Performante, a high-performance SUV with a twin-turbo V8 engine, producing 656 hp and reaching speeds of up to 190 mph. Beyond its speed, the Urus is equipped with cutting-edge public safety tools, including weapon storage, a defibrillator and a refrigerated compartment for medical missions.

In two decades, Lamborghini police vehicles have completed over 200 urgent organ transports and participated in 1,500 road safety events. Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini’s CEO, highlighted the partnership as a symbol of national pride and technological excellence stating: “We are extremely proud to celebrate 20 years of collaboration with the Italian State Police, an institution we deeply respect for its daily work protecting the safety of Italian citizens. Knowing that our vehicles have supported the police in their road operations and have contributed to saving lives is greatly gratifying. This cooperation represents the strong bond between Automobili Lamborghini and Italy and its institutions, despite our international outlook.”
