Tesla's New Limited Edition Mezcal Is Now Available for $450 USD

Elon Musk is expanding its agave spirit offering with a new bottle of mezcal. Tesla brand, Tesla Mezcal has entered the picture, produced in partnership with Nosotros. Priced at a cool $450 USD, the new mezcal is not the first agave spirit from the marque, but it definitely comes in a shocking price.

In 2020, Elon Musk unveiled his first agave spirit was tequila and priced it at $250 USD a bottle. It was also produced by Nosotros at the time and later led to another tequila with a price point of $1,000 USD. Now, Tesla and Elon Musk have unveiled a new selection of limited-edition mezcal. The first release arrived last June and sold out. Now, the latest release comes in much fewer numbers. In a statement from Josh Jacobs, SVP of strategic partnerships at Flaviar, which is the the spirits e-commerce site and subscription service currently partnering with Tesla Mezcal, he said, “At Flaviar, we’re inspired by the ecosystem Tesla has created through its groundbreaking innovations and are proud to be the trusted technology and fulfillment partner for Tesla Mezcal. As with Tesla Tequila and Beer before, we have seen the first batch of Tesla Mezcal fly off the shelves in June, and we are positive this holiday restock will be no exception.”

Tesla’s director of product design Javier Verdura has been the creative brain behind the black lightning bolt bottle, inspired by his Mexican roots. The Tesla Mezcal blends Espadín and Bicuishe agave varietals and is distilled in alembic stills before being bottled at 86 proof. Tasting notes include raisin, pineapple, overripe lime, and some under-ripe stone fruit on the palate, along with equal parts mineral and floral flavors. You can now purchase a bottle online.
