Doublet FW25 Is in Its Villainous Era

Masayuki Ino went dark for its Doublet Fall/Winter 2025 collection. The show notes read, “There are so many people with deep cracks in this world,” setting the tone for the rest of the collection. As he summons a moodier focus for this season, Ino focuses on the antagonist this season, commenting on the righteousness of humanity and how it impacts people.

Asking the question, whether or not everyone should be villainized since no one is perfect and defects are a part of life, Doublet’s latest collection sees Ino embrace the current culture and times. Bringing sinful and devilish archetypes to the runway, the collection draws inspiration from pop culture’s villains including DC Comics’ The Joker character as well as other antagonists like the Disney version of Alice in Wonderland’s Cheshire Cat. Further commenting on the world’s obsession with themselves, the “I [heart] Me” t-shirts seem to have struck a chord with everyone at the show, highlighting the current “me, me, me” culture.

Continuing to compel the audience with his storytelling, Ino still brings a sense of entertainment to the collection, while delivering functional pieces that take on a comfortable yet dramatic structure throughout.
