Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY's Fall 2025 "Fight Night" Was Personal and Political

At Dover Street Market in Paris, Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY hosted a debaucherous “Fight Night,” a one-night-only exhibition of London’s imperiled, bombastic nightlife scene, which included a performance by BULLYACHE and Dinah Lux on the piano. In the retailer’s dimly lit basement studio, the British designer’s muses entered a real-life boxing ring, where they performed tense choreography and violent fight sequences to introduce the label’s Fall 2025 collection, “I Am a Product.”

The two-hour, hot-tempered spectacle was more than just an algorithm-feeding ploy; it was an expression of resistance—one that specifically celebrated queer artistry and bravery in the face of hostility against gay, trans and immigrant identities across the world. As LOVERBOY’s glass-skinned models intimidated, caressed and attacked one another in the cockpit, it became clear that the show’s message was not only political but also personal. “For the first time in my career, I designed a collection without relying on research,” Jeffrey said. “This season came straight from my sketches, my heart, and my soul.”

“It’s a fascinating time to be a designer,” Jeffrey continued. “The industry often treats creatives like chess pieces, moved and discarded at will. This grotesque dynamic made me reflect on the idea of being a “product”—a disposable commodity—rather than someone whose story and artistry are nurtured. It’s a stark reminder of how fleeting fashion can be, yet also how storytelling remains its foundation.”

In mode, the collection housed LOVERBOY’s classic kaleidoscopic knitwear, striped satin blazers, new contorted jerseys, staple graphic tops, big droopy trousers, animalistic headwear and banana-shaped shoes and accessories. Notably, the lineup also included a double-take-worthy Pornhub collaboration, which featured skin-tight sheer tops, sensual graphic tanks and knit lingerie.

The line, Jeffrey said, was a balancing act of what all fashion brands face in the contemporary: “using art to tell challenging stories while making work accessible and wearable.”
