BAPE Joins NEIGHBORHOOD for Cold Weather, Camo-Covered Capsule
Following up the Shinsuke Takizawa-led label’s collaboration with Y-3 at Paris Fashion Week from earlier in the week.
On the heels of its runway-revealed collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto x adidas‘ Y-3 earlier this week in Paris, Shinsuke Takizawa‘s NEIGHBORHOOD has another heavy-hitting collaboration coming up. The Harajuku-based brand is teaming up with fellow Tokyo-set streetwear imprint BAPE to bring its dual-minded vision to life across an array of adaptable apparel and accessories crafted through the partners’ joint design lens.
Connecting over shared roots in Harajuku, BAPE and NEIGHBORHOOD encapsulate the authentic energy of the cultural hub, dipping into both NEIGHBORHOOD’s and BAPE’s archives to revive a slate of archival silhouettes and patterns. Spanning multiple types of jacketing – snowboard jackets, varsity jackets and zip-up hoodies included – the latest link-up between the labels emphasizes durable cold-weather garments, imbuing many of them with BAPE’s “TRIAL CAMO” camouflage patterning, first introduced back in 2000 but now reimagined in a more contemporary monochromatic colorway.
The snowboard jackets signal the staple pieces, arriving in two colorways of all-black and TRIAL CAMO, each featuring an exterior of polyester taffeta and jacquard fabric and mesh interior lining. Equipped with seven pockets – just like its accompanying pair of track pants – the jacket also features drawstrings on the hood and both hems and a subtle co-branded logo embroidered on the front.
Elsewhere, the duo strengthens the vision across its presentation of T-shirts – both long-sleeve and short-sleeve – crew neck sweatshirts and caps. Accessories account for a big portion of the delivery as well, including a ceramic ape head incense chamber, TRIAL CAMO-covered Modernica chair and, on the footwear front, a pair of sleek monochromatic BAPE x NBHD Skull Shoes.
