WACKO MARIA Drops New Bob Marley Collaboration
Celebrating the 2024 biographical drama musical film ‘Bob Marley: One Love.’
WACKO MARIA has been creating playful graphic collections inspired by the world of art, music and film for almost two decades. The Japanese label frequently taps Bob Marley for inspiration, having most recently turned to the legendary reggae artist for a statement-making Spring 2023 range of colorful streetwear cuts. Now, the label has reunited with the late artist’s estate to produce a fresh ready-to-wear capsule celebrating this year’s biographical drama musical film, Bob Marley: One Love.
The collection leads with a bevy of brilliant Hawaiian shirts, each of which boasts iconic imagery of Marley alongside his famous lines, like “Don’t Worry About A Thing ‘Cause Every Little Thing Gonna Be Alright,” his label “Tuff Gong” and his song “One Love.” Pocketed button-up shirts, meanwhile, take a more simple approach to Marley-inspired branding on the chest, with “One Love” and “Tuff Gong” emblems on either side of the silhouette.
Down the line, sweatshirts and T-shirts carry some of the most memorable images of the artist next to the same wording. Images showing Marley singing into a microphone appear next to labels like “Jamming — Bob Marley & The Waiters,” while photos of him with a soccer ball are captioned after his “Redemption Song.” Notably, all of the sweatshirt and T-shirt designs are available in black and white finishes, with a number of light-blue and green versions capping off the lineup.
