André 3000 Drops 'New Blue Sun' Album Film 'Listening To The Sun'
Billed as an intimate “virtual listening session.”
André 3000 has debuted New Blue Sun’s accompanying album film, Listening To The Sun.
The intimate visual component clocks in at 90 minutes and can be described as a “virtual listening session,” with director Terence Nance focusing on 3 Stacks as he physically channels the spirit of his studio album in a serene, blue-lit setting. “I hope you enjoy the ride as much as we did. What you hear is what we did as it was happening,” the artist said of the “formations” of New Blue Sun at the outset of his new short film.
New Blue Sun dropped in November 2023 and marked André’s first full-length release in 17 years. On the album, he trades raps for his flutes and offers a fully instrumental album with a focus on wind instruments like a Maya flute, digital wind instrument and others made of wood and bamboo.
