UNDEFEATED Opens Sports Center and Chapter Store in China’s Aranya
Featuring a training room, combat room, basketball court and swimming pool.

After opening its first store on the East Coast in New York last fall, UNDEFEATED is continuing to invest in brick-and-mortar. The Los Angeles-based streetwear brand has announced the opening of a new flagship store in China.
The store is located in Aranya, a resort town based within the city of Qinhuangdao, about a two hour drive from Beijing. The highlight of the new space, however, isn’t the sneaker and apparel store UNDEFEATED is best known for but rather a first-of-its-kind facility called Sports Center.
The Center is split into four main areas: a basketball court, training area, swimming pool and combat room for martial arts. Helmed by Architect Liu Kenan and his team at Atelier XÜK, in partnership with the architect Liu Xiangbo of Link Architects, the organization of the facility was inspired by the shipyards of port cities, neatly divided into different frames.
The exterior espouses ruggedness with a concrete courtyard and grid-style glass walls, while the interior of the Center prioritizes warm wood and simple stone accents. The Chapter Store is an expansion of the design philosophy with its own stone ceiling.
“Our design philosophy focuses on streamlining, maintaining the store’s structural integrity while integrating athletic-inspired elements throughout,” Xiangbo said.
Driven by UNDEFEATED’s commitment to community and athleticism, the Sports Center is fully functional and will focus primarily on strength training, jiu-jitsu and basketball. To commemorate the opening, brand co-owners James Bond and Eric Chang hosted a Jiu Jitsu seminar led by sixth-degree black belt Chris Haueter.
