'The Boys' Receives Prequel Series Starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash
Titled ‘Vought Rising,” the 1950s set series focuses on Soldier Boy and Stormfront.
Prime Video‘s The Boys is getting its own prequel series. Focusing on Soldier Boy and Stormfront, the spin-off is set in 1950s New York City. Titled, Vought Rising.
The original show’s creator Eric Kripke, announced the spin-off in a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend. Joined by executive producer Paul Grellong, and actors Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, Kripke and showrunner Grellong spoke of the expansion of The Boys world, “We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of The Boys. It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought.” They added, “We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.” Ackles is slate to reprise his role of Soldier Boy, who was created by Frederick Vought during WWII, while Cash is set to continue to play Stormfront.
Other spin-offs are expected to be in the works, including The Boys: Mexico which is set to be executive produced by Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal, as well as the second season of Gen V.
