Alexander McQueen AW24 Campaign Takes Over The Streets of London
“I want to bring that energy to life with the rigour and raw feeling that makes the city’s air hum,” said the creative director.

The Alexander McQueen Autumn/Winter 2024 campaign takes the glamorous and rebellious nature of creative director, Seán McGirr’s debut collection and brings it to East London. The garments are unapologetically flashy and excessive so the images, shot by Glen Luchford, reflect the opulence.
The campaign starts in black and white with a look consisting of a high-neck shearling top paired with a smashed jet stone jacket and trousers. The next two looks take jackets to the next level as a studded bomber jacket paired with denim jeans complete with shearling seams brings a sense of 80s glamour to menswear and a flared coat with a bird tail back and leather collar styled with a mini skirt matches the flashy energy.
Then color washes over the campaign as the next look rides through the city streets on horseback. The mini dress, embroidered with smashed chandeliers and red and orange bicycle reflectors, deserves this grand entrance. An oversized mohair coat follows and the dramatic garment stands on its own with the model being styled in nothing but shoes resembling horse hooves. Two menswear looks conclude the campaign with each suit showing that glamour can either be delivered loudly or subtly. One suit is covered in smashed jet stones like the first look and the other is a crisp stark white suit that screams sophistication.
McGirr reflects on his first campaign by saying, “McQueen is a London-born brand and has always represented an idea of London that I’m deeply attached to. It has a very visceral kind of energy, driven by the eclectic cast of characters you see here. I want to bring that energy to life with the rigour and raw feeling that makes the city’s air hum, leaning deep into its tensions — something that feels poetic and primal; powerful and real. Something that comes from people. I want to bring light to that.”
