REASON Officially Announces Departure From Top Dawg Entertainment
The artist released a mixtape and two studio albums with the label.
REASON is leaving Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) after seven years.
The artist confirmed in a press release that this departure is “a mutual agreement” and made an official announcement on Instagram, “The last seven years have been incredible, and I appreciate all the time and experiences during that span….I can’t even put into words the surreal feeling I’ve had, being able to share my thoughts, expressions, emotions, stories, and experiences with you all through the platform provided to me by Top Dawg Entertainment.”
He also extended his gratitude to label founder Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, as well as the TDE fans. “There are truly no words for the amount of respect I have for you, and that will never change, no matter what,” REASON addressed Top Dawg, also telling the fans, “Thank you guys for the time and thank everybody for the experiences.”
During his time with TDE, REASON released the mixtape There You Have It in 2017 and two studio albums — New Beginnings in October 2020 and, most recently, Porches in August 2023.
