le PÈRE FW24 Goes Deeper Into Subverting Hyper-Masculinity
Marking its fifth collection.
Since its launch in 2022, Lower East Side NYC-based brand le PÈRE has been building out a two-part mission. The first is subverting hyper-masculinity and the second is to serve as an incubator for burgeoning creatives. Now with a couple of years under its belt, the brand is digging deeper into its core plans for the Fall/Winter 2024 season.
Titled “A Sensual Take on Hyper-Masculinity” the new offering marks the brand’s fifth collection, which was inspired by an exploration of abstract shapes and forms. Alongside this exploration is the brand’s continued balancing act of sportswear and every day tailored styles. Inside the wardrobe, you’ll find pieces like its signature double sleeve design taking on a polo shirt and khaki pants, collegiate-leaning cotton tracksuits, slightly oversized knitwear, fused jersey tees, soccer-inspired jerseys, deep-hued denim and more.
On the creative collaboration front, this collection enlisted the help of Portland-based animator and illustrator Drew Tyndell. With a focus on abstract expressionism and stop-motion animations, the artist’s work is seen in pieces like the Jock Tee, which fuses a 90s basketball jersey with a cropped t-shirt. Whether it’s a collaborative or mainline item, the collection doubles down on the brand’s focus of recontextualizing menswear.
