Post-Imperial Expands Its Storytelling Arm With “Remnants” Early Summer Collection

Since its founding in 2012 by Niyi Okuboyejo, Post Imperial has centered its efforts around the collective power of collaborative storytelling. So much so that it has not just become a brand core, but a personality trait. So whether it be a literal brand collaboration or a mainline offering that enlists the help of other creatives, the brand continuously sees the power in shared stories and exalts those experiences. So to keep it going, the brand has revealed its new early summer collection.

Entitled “Remnants,” the new collection furthers the brand’s practice of using beautifully vibrant textiles and styles crafted by local African artisans through traditional techniques – blending the classic and modern. Additionally, the collection finds its spark through inspiration from artists Noah Purifoy and El Anatsui. As such, the range of pieces looks to the artists’ practice of finding the beauty in pieces from their environment.

Inside the wardrobe is a selection of tops, pants and hats that explore with color and feature the brand’s signature Adire dyed prints. So whether it be a pair of coffee-color pants with dandelion-hued circles or an all-over square top in deep fuschia, the pieces embody the richness of storied culture. Another highlight is that all of the pieces are 100% sourced, dyed and crafted in Nigeria.
