Burberry Is British and Proud for Spring 2025

“I want to capture a sense of modern Britishness for Burberry – its archetypes, iconography and people,” says Daniel Lee.

Burberry has over a decade of experience under its belt, portraying its UK heritage across elevated uniforms packed with Britishness. While bracing for the luxury slowdown with its lowest sales report of 2024, Burberry is charging forward with determination.

Creative Director Daniel Lee has unveiled his Spring 2025 collection, returning to the brand’s roots with refined signatures. “I want to capture a sense of modern Britishness for Burberry – its archetypes, iconography, and people. I want it to feel accessible and relatable. Burberry’s heritage of outdoor exploration is important to the vision, too. It’s not solely about outerwear, but the warmth and comfort that it brings,” Lee told Hypebeast.

The Bradford-born designer is ready for summertime with sleek and lightweight silhouettes, dressing UK inhabitants with sophistication. Lee dives into the Burberry archive to unearth signature checks, laddled onto vibrant button-downs, wrap dresses, and trench coats while introducing reimagined Harrington jackets and glossy leather bombers. “For the Spring 2025 collection, I was looking at British ways of dressing – easy elegance with a sense of character. I wanted to combine classic silhouettes with nuanced details to create designs that feel inherently British.”

London’s iconic Savile Row comes alive in flared suiting and wool-tooled peacoats enlivened with frayed Prince of Wales tweed, supple velvet, and textured mohair fabrications. Floral embellishments bloom on additional designs, allowing a peek at the skin beneath with revealing cutouts. Burberry’s Rocking Horse line expands with oversized bucket bags, while leather totes and bowling bags receive custom Burberry hardware to complete the collection clad in transitional tones.

“For this season’s bags and accessories, we’ve continued to build upon our signature shapes with a focus on detail and texture. For example, the Rocking Horse family expands to include new crocodile-effect textures and the Knight bag now comes in a new mini shoulder bag. The Equestrian Knight Design continues to inspire our new signature lines and now they are more established, I love the idea of evolving them in unexpected ways that make sense to the idea of outdoor living,” Lee concludes.
