Marking Barbie‘s 65th anniversary, Mattel has teamed up with Italian design powerhouse Kartell for a special collection that brings a playful twist to classic furniture design. The collection introduces five of Kartell’s most iconic chairs: AI, Venice, Louis Ghost, Masters, and Ero|S|, all reimagined in Barbie’s signature pink. These designs are offered in both doll-sized and full-sized versions, catering to a diverse audience of collectors.

Crafted with sustainability in mind, the chairs utilize innovative materials such as bamboo and are packaged in 100% FSC-certified recycled paper, reflecting a commitment to environmental responsibility. This release builds on a longstanding partnership between Mattel and Kartell, including a transformative project in 2009, where Kartell’s flagship Milan store was reimagined into Barbie’s Dreamhouse.

The collection will debut at Milan Design Week, displayed at the Mattel Creations pop-up at Condenast’s “The Vogue Italia Closet.” Starting April 16, coinciding with the showcase, the full-sized Masters Barbie Limited Edition set, featuring two chairs, will be available for $770 USD, and the single Louis Ghost Barbie Limited Edition chair will be offered at $545 USD. Additionally, a charming set of five miniature chairs suitable for Barbie herself will be available for $60 USD. All these items will be sold exclusively on Kartell for a limited time, providing unique furniture options for those seeking to add distinctive pieces to their collection.
