Justice Releases Fourth Album 'Hyperdrama'
Marking its first album in eight years.
At the top of the year, Justice announced its new project, Hyperdrama, which marks its first studio album in eight years. Well, now the time has finally come as the French duo has officially released the work.
Marking the fourth album for the electronic pairing, the album represents not just a return to what they love, but a continued exploration of their sound. Their last album, Woman, was released in 2016, so the new project underscores elements of past and present. “[Contrast] has been the motor of what we do since the beginning, because there is some kind of radicality and violence that we love in electronic music, and we are also blue-eyed soul and yacht rock fans,” the Xavier de Rosnay told Zane Lowe/Apple Music.
Clicking in at 49 minutes, the 13-track album offers an exciting dance between electronic and disco elements. If you listen closely enough, there are also rock and roll subtleties. So through it all, the project offers a sweet balance between several musical sounds that merge into an undeniably upbeat offering – making a great offering for the pending summer. To aid the robust sound, the project also sees features from Tame Impala, RIMON, The Flints, Connan Mockasin, Miguel and Thundercat.
