Toyota Unveils 6th Gen 4Runner: Its Best Yet?

The Toyota 4Runner, an icon of off-road prowess for over four decades, is entering a new era with the 2025 model. Renowned for its rugged capability and versatility, the latest 4Runner aims to honor its heritage as well as elevate it with modern tech, enhanced performance and a touch of luxury.

At the heart of the new 4Runner is the standard i-FORCE turbocharged 2.4L four-cylinder engine, delivering 278 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. For those seeking more power, an i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain is also available, providing 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque.

As part of this next-gen release, Toyota has introduced the “Trailhunter” grade, designed specifically for overlanding enthusiasts. This turnkey solution is outfitted with the latest off-road equipment from industry leaders like ARB, Old Man Emu and RIGID Industries, providing readiness for any adventure. Additionally, the vehicle features a power rear window and an optional power liftgate, enhancing convenience and accessibility.

For the first time, the 4Runner will offer a Platinum premium grade as well, encapsulating luxury within its rugged exterior. The new 4Runner showcases a 14-inch touchscreen display, integrating the latest Toyota Audio Multimedia system and the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 across all models.

Constructed on the robust TNGA-F global truck platform, the 2025 4Runner promises enhanced strength, comfort and towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds. Its design, inspired by Baja desert racing, captures the essence of adventure while ensuring a modern interior.
