Loungewear Meets Industrial Design in USM's Partnership With Comme Si
The pop-up capsule is currently on view in New York, followed by a tour around the globe.

USM‘s Haller system has changed very little since it first debuted in the 1960s, but the Swiss brand has maintained a cult following for its celebrated modular design that invites endless configuration. USM is riding an all-time high thanks to a number of collaborations, including a recent link up with Symbol, as well as endorsements by the likes of Ojas’ Devon Turnbull.
The latest collaboration sees the Swiss furniture company partner with Brooklyn-based label Comme Si. Founded in 2019 by Jenni Lee, Comme Si is known for its luxury socks and loungewear that are crafted in Italy with premium materials. The partnership features eight items across two categories: a Hard Collection that consists of a sock drawer, vanity and stool on casters; while the Soft Collection boasts a range of Comme Si staples, such as the Merino Wide Rib Socks, La Boxer Alta, and La Shirt Classica in low modular units in muted colors that evoke hues found in nature.
“I’ve created a semi-sheer panel by fusing Comme Si Italian Linen with glass, in a way that appears light and ethereal from afar, but strong and sturdy up close,” said Lee in a statement. “When lit up, it mimics the warmth of a glowing paper lantern.” Set in muted earth tones, the USM x Comme Si collection is currently showcasing as a pop-up exhibition in New York until the end of May, followed by stops in Milan, Seoul and more.
