Nike rolled out its first ever Zoom Vomero in 2006, a versatile shoe made for running long distances and short jogs alike. In the years since, it’s also been the chosen pick of any sheerly for its comfort and casual look, appearing as much a lifestyle sneaker as an athletic one.

The Zoom Vomero 5, specifically, launched in 2010. While it wasn’t central to the brand’s lineup by the mid 2010s, Nike injected new energy into the model around 2019 when it teamed up with Samuel Ross’ A-COLD-WALL* for a sleek all-black version with a boxy addition on the heel.

Since then, Nike has been frequently sharing new colorways for the Zoom Vomero 5. The latest comes in the form of the “Since ’72” model, which takes a more retro approach.

A white mesh body makes up the bulk of the color palette, alongside a navy blue swoosh and a beige suede heel and toe. The sole features a splash of color in a creamy yellow shade. Reflective gray details appear throughout the logo and side panel.

The “Since ’72” – named after the year Blue Ribbon Sports was renamed to Nike – is ideal for those who appreciate a subtle nod to the OG retro look without particularly flashy colors.

The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Since ’72” is expected to be priced at $160 USD and launches this summer.
