Hypland Readies New ‘Gundam’ Apparel Collection
Spotlighting the iconic Gundam RX-78 and MS-06S Char’s Zaku II in prints as well as designs.
Shortly after dropping its Junji Ito collection, Hypland is announcing the release of a new apparel collection with the classic anime Mobile Suit Gundam. Comprising outerwear, hoodies, sweaters, T-shirts, pants, bags and headwear, every piece from this expansive and vibrant lineup is coded with an iconic Gundam color palette as well as iconography.
Among the pieces, the GUNDAM RX-78 Reversible Puffer Jacket is an eye-catching pick that instantly captures the eye of die-hard Gundam fans. As its name suggests, the jacket is reversible, with one side boasting an all-white colorway, while the other side is accented in the mobile suit’s emblematic hues. Its front is constructed with puffer panels that have been designed to emulate the RX-78’s upper torso, while the back references the Earth Federation Space Force cross as seen on the mobile suit’s red shield.
The collection also spotlights the arch antagonist of the anime with a selection of styles sporting graphic prints and characteristics of MS-06S Char’s Zaku II — a custom mobile suit piloted by the main antagonist, Char Aznable. Another puffer jacket can be spotted in the lineup, sporting Zaku II’s iconic red color and implemented with a geometrical structure, complete with black accents.
