Playboi Carti Pops Out on Camila Cabello's "I LUV IT"
Cabello also interpolates Gucci Mane’s 2009 cut “Lemonade.”
Camila Cabello has made her return to the scene with her first single since 2022, tapping none other than Playboi Carti for the hyperpop offering “I LUV IT.”
The track went viral long before its release, with at-the-time rumors of Cabello’s supposed Carti feature swirling around the internet.
After the chorus – “I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it” – Cabello interpolates Gucci Mane‘s classic 2009 cut “Lemonade” on the post-chorus. “Lemons on the chain with thе V-cuts (Yeah, yeah, brr) / Lemons on thе chain with the V-cuts (Yeah, yeah, brr) / Lemons in their face, watch ‘em freeze up (Ah, ah, brr, brr)”
Carti shows up for the third verse; in the visual, he’s spitting bars in the Bodega as Cabello sits on the ice cream freezer.
“Oh, you on the road now? Oh, you grown now? / Oh, you too grown now / You tryna take your time by your lone,” he opens. “All this novocaine got ‘em numb to the drugs now / Movin’ on Mary Jane, I feel burnt out like the sun now / Aventador, SVJ, I’m ridin’ ’round with her perm out,” he continues in his deep voice.
