Belstaff Journeys to the Great British Outdoors for SS24 Collection

For its first seasonal offering of its 100-year milestone, Belstaff explores its diverse heritage, specifically its ties to the outdoors, with a technical collection crafted for today’s explorers.

Taking notes from the conditions, terrains, and sights of Scafell Pike in Cumbria – a quintessential landscape in the British countryside – the Spring/Summer 2024 range comes together with a variety of archival pieces reworked in new fabrications that are designed to aid expeditions. The all-weather Castmaster parka characterizes the functional drop with its newly introduced cool-touch polyester and quick dry UV finishing inspired by the innovation behind Belstaff’s 1930s “Sporting Waterproofs”.

Alongside the Castmaster, the collection also features the brand’s famed Dalesman outdoors jacket and smock which were originally released in 1950. Remade with the new, tightly woven Scafell Cloth, the jacket maintains its classic, soft cotton feel whilst also boasting a “dry-hand” effect that is similar to old-age canvas groundsheets and tents.

These jackets arrive with a range of accompanying trousers, shorts, and T-shirts that complete the heritage-inspired, utility look. Items from the Centenary capsule are also incorporated in the edit as well as a selection of classic Belstaff overshirts. Tying the garments together is a neutral palette composed of “Mineral Green,” “Dark Sandstone,” and “Limestone,” which is applied in block hues and, on certain pieces, overlaid with map prints.

For the launch of the new collection, Belstaff unveils a new campaign that naturally takes place against the assorted backdrops of Scafell Pike. With a series of black and white, in-action shots, the visuals highlight the nostalgic feel of the collection’s heritage pieces whilst showcasing their modern technicalities.
