Apple Debuts MacBook Air Models With M3 Chip
Faster and more powerful than the M1 versions.

Apple is giving its MacBook Air models the M3 treatment. The 13-inch and 15-inch can now be purchased with the M3 chip, empowering the models with greater performance and efficiency.
Compared to the M1 versions, Apple says that the M3 increases speed by 60%, as well as 13-times faster than the fastest Intel-based model. Both sizes offer 18 hours of battery life, 24GB of memory and can now support two external displays.
The M3 offers an 8-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU, depending on the model. Apple appears to be marketing the M3 models towards those who want faster speeds while running certain programs, such as photo and video editing software. The M3 MacBook Airs are being branded as the best pick for improving one’s workflow while still maintaining its status as a lightweight, easy-to-carry-around model.
Apple also describes the MacBook Air as “the world’s best consumer laptop for AI.” The laptop is built to run most LLM models and is said to provide the necessary power for AI-enabled “camera features, real-time speech to text, translation, text predictions, visual understanding, accessibility features and much more.”
The new MacBook Air with M3 is available for purchase now in the colors “Midnight,” “Starlight,” “Silver” and “Space Gray.” The 13-inch MacBook Air with M3 starts at $1,099 USD, while the 15‑inch runs for $1,299 USD.
