Archive for Space and Béton Brut Present the “Steel 00” Mirror Collection
Challenging the nature of stainless steel with dynamic yet fluid designs.

Archive for Space has linked up with fellow London-based and architect-led Béton Brut to present the “Steel 00” Mirror collection. The collaboration features two new mirrors, Mirror 001 and Mirror 002, which serve as the latest pieces to Archive for Space’s founders, Arabella Maza and Stephen Maginn’s continuous exploration with stainless steel.
Handcrafted in Stoke-on-Trent, the new mirrors showcase a blend of gentle movement and dynamic design. Mirror 001, characterized by its fabric-like fluidity, features rolled hems that allow it to hang on a pair of slim wires, giving the piece a sense of weightlessness. It can be hung in either portrait or landscape modes and facilitates suspension from either wall or ceiling. It comes in four standard sizes, with custom sizes available upon request and includes a two-meter cable as standard.
Also made to order, Mirror 002 explores the process of cutting, bending and polishing stainless steel with a domestic context in mind. Its organic, kidney-shaped form challenges the industrial nature of the material, while its protruding frame boasts a brushed finish, adding a touch of contrast to its dynamic profile. It’s designed with multiple hooks that allows it to hang in four different positions.
Both mirrors embody the philosophy of combining practicality with aesthetic appeal, ensuring they fit seamlessly into various environments. These mirrors are a testament to the craftsmanship and thoughtful design that define Archive for Space’s creation. Prices start from £1,900 GBP (around $2,411 USD) for Mirror 002 and £2,350 GBP for Mirror 001 (approx. $2,982 USD), both pieces are available for inquiry via Béton Brut with an 8 – 10 week lead time.
