X Will Now Let Blocked Users See Your Posts
Users are criticizing the update, saying it aids in stalking.
X is making a controversial update to the block feature. Users will be able to see public posts, even if you’ve blocked them.
If you’ve blocked a user, while they’ll be able to see your content, they can’t interact with posts or follow you. Users will also be able to view the followers and following list of even those they’re blocked by.
Many are criticizing the decision, saying it aids in stalking and makes it easier for users to harass victims. X, however, attributed the change to “greater transparency.”
“Today, block can be used by users to share and hide harmful or private information about those they’ve blocked,” the company said. “Users will be able to see if such behavior occurs with this update, allowing for greater transparency.”
Elon Musk had previously announced his intent to overhaul the block feature in late September.
