Tesla Unveils Autonomous "Cybercab Robotaxi"
Planned to be launched in 2027 with a price tag of under $30,000 USD.
Tesla has revealed its latest vehicle concepts during its recent “We, Robot” event. Notably, the new range is aimed at public transport, with the EV automaker unveiling plans for an autonomous “Cybercab Robotaxi” and “Robovan.”
Elon Musk has introduced these vehicles with the narrative that fully autonomous system can transform transportation by improving both safety and affordability. The Tesla CEO claims these taxis could be 10 times safer than human drivers, significantly cutting transport costs.
Design-wise, the futuristic vehicle boasts a modern aesthetic, highlighted by sleek light bars and deep-dish rims that contribute to its distinctive look, complete with butterfly doors.
At the time of writing, both vehicles are still in their concept stages, with no substantial detail on performance statistics available. However, Tesla has shared that it is aiming for production to begin before 2027 with a price target of under $30,000 USD. In addition to these two new concepts, Tesla will also begin rolling out Full Self-Driving (FSD) for the Model 3 and Model Y in California and Texas beginning next year.
