New 'Final Fantasy VII Rebirth' Trailer Teases Major Changes in Characters' Destinies
The sequel in the franchise remake releases in February.
Square Enix‘s latest Final Fantasy VII Rebirth trailer further teases massive story changes.
The one-minute visual supports the theory that Sephiroth will be successful in changing the destinies of Cloud, Zack, Tifa, Barret, Biggs, and, most importantly, Aerith, who fans expect will live throughout the series instead of die like in the original 1997 video game. Tifa’s character also hints at unforeseen major destruction caused by the villain as she tearily blames his, while Barret is surprised at a major revelation.
Rebirth will follow 2020’s Remake, which saw Zack very much alive and Cloud and the group arriving at Kalm. The title is now one of the highest-selling PlayStation 4 games of all time, and was nominated and won in several categories at the 2020 Game Awards.
