K-Way FW24 Shines a Light on Engineered Outerwear
The French-Italian label began with its classic LeVrai 3.0 jacket and transformed the silhouette into something more experimental.
During Milan Fashion Week Men’s, specialty French-Italian outerwear label K-Way presented its most avant-garde collection to-date, for Fall/Winter 2024. The brand, led by Lorenzo Boglione, transformed the ground floor of its parent company BasicNet Group’s headquarters into a blank white canvas, where it’s next-season silhouettes cascaded before Europe’s glitterati in saturated color.
K-Way’s mainstay LeVrai 3.0 jackets largely defined the collection, appearing in neutral navy, true blue, firetruck red, forest green, icy grey and stark white. The show was organized by tone, in the aforementioned order; and the brand’s vivid design codes primarily lent themselves to puffy coats and padded trousers with measured volumes.
Across the board, K-Way’s signifying three-color zipper ran through the centers of coats, tops, skirts and pants. The classic motif became grander when brought to the fore with geometric quilting, which took form in every color. However, The Claude, a packable windbreaker, was the line’s hero piece: the inventive silhouette transformed the tech-forward label’s LeVrai 3.0 shape into colossal, inventive creations that varied by hue. Here, K-Way had fun in ways that it hadn’t before.
Elsewhere, velvet bombers supplied a soft-to-the-touch contrast to the line’s predominantly puffed-up persona. In most looks, a collared shirt and tie peaked out from under the imprint’s claim-to-fame outerwear, positioning the best-sellers on a business-minded clientele. All over, layering was pivotal in showcasing the expert craftsmanship behind K-Way’s engineered textiles.
