Mimi Shodeinde Redefines the Essence of Movement With the Borris Collection
A 10-piece furniture series featuring an arm chair, a dining table and more.

London-based designer and artist, Mimi Shodeinde has unveiled a whole new furniture series under her studio Minimat Designs. Entitled The Borris Collection, the ten-piece series is a physical manifestation of Shodeide’s explorative efforts in challenging the conventional perceptions of movement.
Through chairs, dining tables and floor lamps, Shodeinde brings her very own interpretation of movement to life with a contemporary vision. She explains that “this collection is about capturing the essence of movement when it ceases. We’re exploring the beauty found in the pause, in those solid, ridged structures that emerge when movement reaches its culmination.”
The Borris Chair is a fresh and immaculate piece that offers a juxtaposing interplay between softness and hardness. Boasting a boxlike proportion made up of rectangular and trapezoid parts, the chair features a soft, suede-like material for its seat, backrest and arms, which are held in place with aluminum panels.
Another noteworthy highlight from the lineup is the Borris Dining Table comprises three irregularly shaped modular pieces. Each of these pieces functions as a standalone table respectively but can be fit together to form a long dining table. Its structural frame is crafted from aluminum, while two of its table tops are fitted tinted glass, with the remaining fitted with Nero Marquina marble.
The Borriss collection is currently available to order with prices upon request via Minimat Designs’ official website.
