JUNTAE KIM's FW24 Collection Presents "PUNKOUTURE"
Sharing its latest expression of gender-fluid wares.
The latest from South Korean designer Juntae Kim‘s eponymous London and Seoul-based label continues its homage to the late great Vivienne Westwood. Titled “PUNKOUTURE,” the Fall/Winter 2024 collection draws heavily from early Seditionaries design in its creation of gender-fluid wears.
The “PUNKOUTURE” starts from the imagination of various groups throughout the ’70s and ’80s that sang for love and peace in the pursuit of freedom. From the Sex Pistols, Ramones, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, and more, their unique style of dressing is reinterpreted through layering and fading accented by cuts and slashes. Corsets remain a major part of JUNTAE KIM’s aesthetic language, for both female and males, they serve to disrupt beauty standards defined by gender, class, and body size, while tearing up tradition to turn a new genre on fluid fashion.
