Nordic Knots and Fabrizio Casiraghi Unveil Elevated Hand-Woven Rugs
Blending Scandinavian nature and French Renaissance tropes.
Scandinavian rug purveyor Nordic Knots has joined forces with revered Paris-based interior designer Fabrizio Casiraghi on a range of hand-knotted rugs galvanized by humans and their relationships with nature.
Blending Swedish and Parisian style codes, the collaboration is Nordic Rugs’ “most intricate and elevated collection to date,” and it also marks Casiraghi’s first-ever textile partnership. The team-up came to fruition after Nordic Knots’ co-founders, husband and wife Fabian Berglund and Liza Berglund Laserow, paid a visit to the highly-acclaimed Drouant restaurant in Paris, which was redesigned by Casiraghi.
“We admire his way of transforming spaces into a world that is so very ‘Fabrizio Casiraghi’ yet feel as if they have existed for a long time,” said Laserow in a statement. “There’s a sense of balance and the unexpected in his designs; his interiors are layered and curated, with just enough pieces to make them feel lived-in, but still modern and fresh.”
The collection departs from typical geometric prints, and instead embraces a more figurative approach to design, with large motifs centered on each rug. On three pieces, the collaborators spotlight the line’s main characters: the Archaeologist (the past), the Farmer (the present) and the Astronomer (the future). Each persona is brought to life through sketched silhouettes, with terracotta, verdant green and sky blue hues.
The Nordic Knots x Fabrizio Casiraghi collection will launch in October. Prices range from $2,395 USD to $6,295 USD. Take a look at the lineup in the gallery above.
