Chris Evans has lived a life relatively under the radar for a Marvel star. In the recent GQ profile, Evans shared with fans what he has been up to since his Marvel days.

With that in mind, Evans also revealed that he agrees with Quentin Tarantino‘s controversial comments about stating Marvel actors are “not movie stars.” Known for playing Captain America, Evans reveals that he somewhat agrees with the legendary director’s comments. He told GQ, “That was the beauty of working on Marvel films. You never really had to be front and center. Even in your own films sometimes. Quentin Tarantino said it recently and I was like, you know, he’s right. The character is the star. You’re there, but you don’t feel the burden of it.”

In the same interview, Kevin Feige chimes in, seemingly disagreeing. He tells the publication, ““I think it’s something [Chris] was telling himself, and I think it’s something many of the Avengers, including Robert, would tell themselves, which actually was very helpful to the process. But in certain cases, including Chris’, it’s not entirely true.”

Evans role as Steve Rogers/Captain America in 2011 and exited the franchise in 2019. While he did exit, he has said in the past that he will never rule out a return, “I’ll never say never, just because it was such a wonderful experience. But I’m also very precious with it. It’s something that I am very proud of. And like I said, sometimes I can’t believe it even happened. And I wouldn’t want the black eye if it felt like a cash grab or if it didn’t live up to expectations or if it just felt like it wasn’t connected to that original thing. So, no time soon.” Evans also alluded that acting less has motivated him to really pick and choose his roles. “Now it’s really about, well: What time of year are we filming?” Evan’s has been in the Marvel franchise for 11 years and is slated to star opposite Emily Blunt in Netflix’s Pain Hustlers on October 20.

In other entertainment news, Mark Wahlberg is hinting at retiring from acting.
