Thomas Kastholm’s TK8 Daybed Gets a Canvas Update
Marking the piece’s first time using the sturdy material.
Designer Thomas Kastholm’s TK8 Daybed has received a new canvas update.
As the Danish design piece has only been upholstered in leather, the new version marks bring a revitalized, yet sturdy touch to the item. The piece still harbors the same minimalist design – filled with geometric shapes and straight lines. Some of the most striking details of the bed include its cool brushed steel chrome and oak or walnut edge build. Additionally, it features a bolted weld-free design, which now sees a natural canvas touch with three transverse stitching.
“TK8 Daybed has been part of our collection since 2009, and with its distinctive and minimalist identity in leather, we believe it can easily push new textile boundaries,” said Knud Erik Hansen, owner/manager of Carl Hansen & Son. “The natural canvas adds a softness to the daybed, making it even more aesthetically pleasing for private homes.”
The TK8 Daybed includes a matching pillow and comes in two sizes. It is available now at Carl Hansen & Son.
Elsewhere in design, this historical silver vault in London is now home to a wellness-first workplace.
