Nas Says He’s Recording New Music: ‘I’m in One of These Creative Growth Spurts’
The prolific rapper has put out 4 albums since 2020.
Nas has released four albums in the past three years and even still, shows no sign of slowing down. The New York rapper has been instrumental in defining the city’s sound, most recently with his King’s Disease album trilogy with producer Hit-Boy.
Fans of Nas thankfully won’t have to wait long to hear more new music from him. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the rapper shared that he’s currently recording new music and described himself as being “in one of these creative growth spurts.”
On the topic of putting out three consecutive King’s Disease LPs, Nas said that he doesn’t want to put the brakes on his flow when he’s in a place of having such a prolific output.
“It feels very free and I just wanna see what happens as I stick to it. And I’ve been sticking to it and it’s been my whole life now.”
“Like, if I’m recording, I don’t do anything else really, It hasn’t been this way for me for probably 20 years,” he added. “I think that’s what I think today, maybe tomorrow I think about, well, actually accurately seven years, or since I’ve been really in the studio, but when it comes in my head now, it’s been that long—20 years.”
The rapper didn’t share exactly when fans can expect to hear the new songs but it’s anything like what he’s been putting out lately, his project already looks promising.
