If anyone can offer up skillfully crafted pieces alongside subverting the mundane, it’s Maison Margiela. The latest offering from the brand that confirms the latter is its new Waders Boots.

Fit for the streets and maybe the river, the new thigh-high boots mirror those of a seasoned fly fisher. But the Paris-based house – led by John Galliano – brings the boots into the luxury world with an eye-catching black patent leather finish. Alongside the boot’s glossy exterior, they are complete with a utilitarian rubber toe cap and lined outsole. Overall, the boots are elevated by their rubber-dipped construction, which crafts a slightly dripping wet look – particularly around the base.

Retailing for $3,845 USD, the Waders Boots are available now in-store and online at Maison Margiela.
