G-SHOCK’s Retro-Inspired Forgotten Future Series Outfits Archive Models in Industrial Metallic Colorways
The future was and is metallic.
For a brand as prolific as G-SHOCK, the past, present and future coexist in an ever-growing archive. G-SHOCK’s latest series, Forgotten Future, looks to past interpretations of the future, adapting cool-toned, industrial metallics to revamp signature models from its lineup, including the GA-2100FF-8A, GA-2200FF-8A, DW-5600FF-8 and GA-700FF-8A. A retro-futuristic theme deployed across the series delivers four new bezel and band colorways in shimmery, gray-scale tones.
G-SHOCK’s interpretation of an industrial and cyberpunk-inspired design varies depending on the watch. The GA-2200FF-8A and GA-700FF-8A (each equipped with a Super Illuminator LED) are the flashiest of the lot, showcasing robust case designs in eye-catching chrome and gunmetal tones. The rugged GA-700FF-8A, in particular, is outfitted with an angular index and a silver vapor deposition on the dial. The GA-2200FF-8A is sleeker in appearance and uses translucent materials to contrast the dial and indices. Minimalist, utility-centric options arrive with the DW-5600FF-8 and octagonal GA-2100FF-8A. The latter is fashioned with a circular hairline finish to illuminate the bezel’s glimmering facade.
These are models you know and love, now doused in reflective silver. Mainstay features like shock resistance and 20-bar water resistance return, and across the series, each model comes equipped with world time, a 1/100-second stopwatch and a countdown timer. Complementing its compact size, the DW-5600FF-8 offers a multi-function alarm and built-in backlighting suitable for dim environments.
The Forgotten Future series is now available on G-SHOCK’s website. The GA700FF-8A, GA2100FF-8A and DW5600FF-8 retail for $120 USD, while the GA2200FF-8A retails for $160 USD. Read more about the brand’s latest collections here.
