For the new fashion jewelry collection, Rousteing reflects on the mantra of “art is life,” or vida es arte. How does art work with day-to-day life, how does art become a part of life, and how can life imitate art? These are the questions answered with the mythological studies that are found within the collection, notably centering around earrings, necklace chockers, and rings themed on ram skulls.
However, there’s also an element of futurism here: bolt-like ring cuffs, situated at various points across the hand and fingers, are droid in their nature, as are the large cuffs à la Martin Margiela. For something with more impact, Balmain engraves its signature monogram into chunkier cuff bracelets, subsequently rounding out the collection.
