Following a dominating five-round performance against Irene Aldana at UFC 289, Amanda Nunes became the promotion’s first women’s double champion ever. With a bantamweight and featherweight belt wrapped around each shoulder, Nunes made the shocking announcement in the Octagon that she will be retiring from the game, finishing on top as one of the greatest mixed martialist of all time.

The champ-champ’s last bout was won by unanimous decision with the judges scorecards reading 50-44, 50-44, and 50-43. Nunes retires as the most prolific fighter in women’s MMA history with a pro record of 23-5 and will surely be inducted into the Hall of Fame in due time.

Also on the card was fellow Brazilian fighter Charles Oliveira who finished Beneil Dariush in the first round of the co-main, and thus securing his rematch against Islam Makhachev.

Take a look at Nunes’ Octagon Interview below as she bids farewell to the sport and calls on the next generation of Brazilian fighters.
