MARKET Taps Michael Rios for Illustrative Jimi Hendrix-Honoring Capsule

If you’re in the market for informed, artistic, streetwear-leaning clothes, look no further than the offerings from the aptly-titled brand, MARKET. Following on from its Bob Marley soccer drop, Grateful Dead D.I.Y. capsule, and a would-be merch collection for The Rolling Stones, MARKET now taps the San Franciscan veteran illustrator Michael Rios to honor the musical legend that is Jimi Hendrix.

Rios is known for his murals which can be found all around the Mission District of San Fran, who typically depicts the likes of Hendrix and other icons around the city. Now, in keeping with the artist’s other project of screen printing, MARKET delivers a capsule collection spotlighting Rios’ illustrations of Hendrix across T-shirts, hoodies, a trucker hat, and a tray.

The T-shirts range from a tie-dyed variant reading “MARKET EXPERIENCE,” a play on The Jimi Hendrix Experience, which is both an album and the name of Hendrix’s band that included Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell. Hendrix’s face appears in the middle of the tee alongside his name underneath.

As for the other T-shirt, a more traditional depiction of the musician appears on the front alongside “HENDRIX” and “MARKET.” The hoodie ramps up the graphic goodness, with a base of black and white warping together before being overlayed with another unique Hendrix graphic. The tray and trucker cap bring these elements together in smaller accessories form.
