Luca Benini‘s cult imprint Slam Jam and Levi’s are back together again, this time around joining in the celebration of the 501’s 150th anniversary. To mark the special occasion, Slam Jam’s efforts are second to none — it hasn’t just made any pair of Levi’s jeans, but a Made in Japan-spec 501 based on the classic 1955 pattern.

Made with 100% organic cotton, the 501s in question are as classic in cut and form as can be. They rise mid-high and fall straight down the leg, elongating the wearer in the meantime. To elevate the pair, Slam Jam applies a silver silk pattern screen print design that warps around the side seam on the leg, and completes the limited-edition 501 with a classic jacron, Levi’s “Big E” red tab, and another Slam Jam-branded tab on the rear-left pocket.

Continuing its study in vintage Americana and the archive collated by Benini is Slam Jam’s Levi Strauss & Co.-themed muscle tank top. Coming in black, the garment has raw-cut sleeves and a chest pocket that’s contrasted with the retailer’s anarchistic (Un)Corporate Uniforms logo and the Levi’s logo in a silver screen-printed tone, as well as further zig-zag printing on the side seams.

Slam Jam and Levi’s latest collection can be seen in the gallery above, and is due to drop on April 14 at Slam Jam stores, online, via Levi’s website, and at select retailers globally.

In other news, Raf Simons’ final collection has dropped.
