Samsung is continuously building on its Galaxy smartphone lineup. Today, the company shared the latest two additions: the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34. The 5G phones tack on to the Galaxy A series, which is geared at giving users pro-grade cameras and has debuted around 20 phones since the line was launched in 2014.

Both the A54 and A34 are designed for optimal photo quality, even in harsh or low light conditions. The phones pack Samsung’s Light Boosting technology, which, true to its name, increases light in a setting, doing away with harsh flashes. Night Mode can also be enabled to heighten the phones’ awareness of dark environments.

Samsung has been leaning more into AI as of late, something it doesn’t skimp out on with the A54 and A34. Both phones use AI to increase the camera’s pixel size and capture more detail. And rounding out the devices’ photo capabilities is the largest camera sensor in a Galaxy A Series to date.

Differentiating the A54 and the A34 is the exact specifications of their three cameras. The A54 has a main 50-megapixel camera, along with 12-megapixel ultrawide and 5-megapixel macro. The A34 has a 48-megapixel main, 8-megapixel ultrawide and 5-megapixel macro. The selfie cameras also look a bit different. The A54’s 32-megapixel camera is housed within a cutout connected to the outer screen border, while the A34’s 13-megapixel camera is contained in a floating bubble at the top of the screen.

As for the Galaxy A’s AMOLED displays, the A54 comes with a 6.4-inch display, while the A34 utilizes a 6.6-inch. Displays have a 120Hz refresh rate and have been revamped for improved visibility outdoors, particularly in the sun. On the software side, meanwhile, a minimum of four generations of OS upgrades will be made available on both phones.

The A54 is available in lime, graphite, violet, and white colorways, while the A34 is offered in lime, graphite and violet, as well as silver.

Prices for the Galaxy A54 start at $449.99 USD, with sales beginning on April 6 in the U.S. online at and at participating retailers. A price and U.S. release date for the Galaxy A34 have yet to be announced.
